Latest Updates from Our Project:

Finalizing files...and making big plans!
about 1 year ago – Sat, May 06, 2023 at 02:44:10 PM

Hi folks!

We've been working closely with the manufacturers these past weeks to get everything lined up for printing, but we've now got everything lined up. We had a few extra delays due to a big event in Spain and the Easter holidays.

Now we're just waiting for the demo print to be done and then the full print run will start and then we'll also have the dates we need to set the rest of the process in motion with freight and distribution. It's too early to be sure, but I'm now expecting early July as the date when you'll start to receive your copies.

I know it's disappointing we're not fulfilling on time, I just hope we can make you all happy with the final product when it does get into your hands and on your tables! In the meantime, I want to share the final board artwork for those who haven't seen it yet!

We're also making big plans for the coming year, having just booked a returning space at Spiel, Essen - where we'll be joining forces with our good friends at BARPIG with a big presence! More to come on this soon as we draw up all the plans.

Print n Play - BackerKit issue
about 1 year ago – Wed, Apr 12, 2023 at 01:17:51 AM

Just a quick update to let you know we're having some problems with the Print n Play distribution on BackerKit. The files are ready, but the system is not picking up the backers to send them out. I'm in touch with their support team on this and it should be resolved shortly. Sorry for the delay.

We're ready to start printing!

Hey everyone

Sorry for the delay in this update - this past few weeks has been very busy and intense (with game process, my day-job and personal life). This will be a short but exciting update - hope yiou enjoy!

The files have been sent!

We have incredible news for you all: We've finished the designs of everything and the files have been sent to the manufacturer!

Now we're still waiting for the confirmation that everything was correctly received and is good to go (due to Easter weekend) but we know already the printing process will take approximately 8 weeks, so it looks like the games will be ready at the end of May and we'll start fulfillment straight away. We're expecting to have an update this coming week and we should be getting our estimates for the process. From there we'll be following up with the fulfillment company and updating all our timelines.

Print n Play - Penultimate version

The next update to the Print n Play copies is also in progress right now and should be distributed later today. There are two important things about this:

1. The Really-NSFW Expansion will be released for the first time to backers who have purchased the NSFW expansion deck.

2. The files are not optimised for home printing - once we have the final OK from the printers and have made any error corrections, we'll prepare the very final Print n Play version.

This is a huge step for us, but as we're still waiting for the final confirmation we're waiting patiently before we start celebrating and working on the next steps. So we'll be sharing a bit more exciting news about what's upcoming in our next update.

So sorry, we've got a delay

Manufacturing delay

Jumping right into this as I have some unfortunate news for you all. We're a bit behind with our plan for manufacturing. It was looking promising to make our deadlines, but we've not been able to get everything ready in time for the cut-off that would get the games to us in time.

The order with the printers is nearly finalised, but it looks like we'll still need a couple of weeks to make the necessary adjustments to everything. This will likely mean manufacturing will finish towards the end of May. From there, the US and Canada copies will be shipped over to Bridge Distribution for fulfilment. We're not sure exactly how long this will take, but we'll be getting estimates as soon as we have the production ready date. The rest of the copies will be making a much shorter journey to us here in Amsterdam and we'll be starting with fulfilment straight away.

I'm sorry that we weren't able to meet our timelines here. There are two main factors that have caused this. Firstly, my health towards the end of 2022 was not great and I needed to take time away to recover. Secondly as we've been getting more visibility, I've been getting a lot more feedback and input on the game, both in terms of gameplay and production. We've made a significant number of small improvements to everything, from refining the turn sequences and order, getting better designs on the cards, illustrations on the board and cruising areas are also much better than we had previously planned for. Overall, we're very proud of what we're making now and can't wait to get it into everyone's hands to be played and enjoyed.

Incoming Game Review by Just Got Played

Some exciting news however is that our first official board game review has been recorded by the folks over at Just Got Played! This will be published early next week (hoping for Monday). I have no idea what they thought of the game yet - so I'll be watching it for the first time along with you all. I have been checking out a lot more of their reviews recently and I like their style very much. Their reviews have already had an impact on my to-buy list (Dice Manor seems perfect for our gayming group here) so I recommend you check out their channel!

We've got a few other copies with reviewers who are working on making their content and we'll let you know as soon as these are coming out.

That's all for this update. My hope is the next update will be us confirming we've started production!

Plenty of news for you all!

Hi everyone

Quite a lot has happened this past 2 weeks, so I'll just jump right in and get on with this info packed update!

Print n Play

I've just uploaded an update to the Print n Play files to the Pledge Manager. I don't expect this to be the final-final version, but we're getting close! I've made a few small changes to the rulebook based on feedback we've had - no game changes (literally), just minor edits for clarification. I've also added numbers to the dice table at the back of the rulebook to make it easier to use a normal D6 dice. The components are also now on A4 PDFs that I'm hoping should make the printing process a lot smoother. Please get in touch if you have any problems with printing.

Reviewer Copies

The reviewer copies have started to land on doorsteps, so we're excited to hear that the content creators are already hard at work putting together some videos of the game! We'll be making as much noice about this as possible when they launch - really hope they have fun and enjoy the game. We did have a couple of hiccups with the printing process for these (not enough of some components), luckily the final games will go through a much more rigorous testing process and each mistake now of course helps us to learn.

Shipping

We are unfortunately still waiting on a couple of pieces of info before we can make updates to the shipping costs, but I can already confirm that it's very likely backers around Europe without add-ons will likely see a bit of a reduction in the costs as we're pretty certain we'll be fitting into a lower weight class than we had originally estimated.

I've also been in touch with BackerKit and now the shipping fees should be more visible within the interface for you all. Due to the beta feature we're making use of, these were hidden and so pretty confusing, but now if you view your pledge details through BackerKit and go to the section to change your address, you should see the estimated shipping fees clearly identified.

North America Fulfilment

We're also delighted to announce that we will be partnering with Bridge Distribution for our North American fulfilment. We're so happy that this worked out for us as this has a whole host of advantages for us as a company and to our backers in the region. We'll be sending about half of the games we get printed over to their warehouses once printed and they'll be handling the fulfilment to both US and Canada on an ongoing basis. This has allowed us to quote a much reasonable shipping cost and hopefully a much smoother process through customs. A big shout out to Matt and David from Bridge for their help in getting to this agreement.

Gayming Group

One of the things I'm proud of this past two weeks is launching a new edition of the LGBTQ+ Board Gaming events I host: Board Gaymers in Amsterdam. We started back in 2019 and have been hosting twice-per-month gaming events at our favourite bar hangout called Prik (it actually means bubbles in Dutch, but the pun is certainly intended). This event is lots of fun and is an awesome way for us to hang out and get some games in on a Tuesday evening.

We are however growing as a group, so last Sunday was our first XL edition hosted as an awesome meeting space called LOADS.Amsterdam. We had 26 happy gaymers join in on the fun playing tonnes of games all day - including of course a near-mandatory game of Gay Sauna!

If you're nearby or ever visiting, come join us for one of our events and meet our awesome growing members (now that pun was accidental). You can find out more on our website at https://rerollworks.com.

Well, that's all for now hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
